2021년부터 거리를 걸으며 발목을 잡히는 이미지들을 체계 없이 촬영해오다, 2024년 아카세가와 겐페이의 《노상관찰학》을 접한 뒤 그간의 기록들을 다시 분류하고 정리하며 이 책을 제작하게 되었다. 책의 판형 역시 안그라픽스에서 출간한 《노상관찰학》의 판형을 따르고 있다.
총 148쪽으로 구성된 이 책은 월요일부터 일요일까지 요일을 단위로 당시 촬영한 거리의 사진과 글을 함께 묶어 분류했다. 월요일에서 일요일로 넘어갈수록 요일의 칸이 한 칸씩 밀리는 구조를 취하고 있다. 거리에서 발견된 사물이나 주체의 형태와 사연을 관찰하는 것이 이 책의 핵심인 만큼, 이미지에서 색을 완전히 배제해 형태 자체에만 집중할 수 있도록 했다.
From 2021, I walked the streets photographing images that stopped me in my tracks — without any particular system or intent. It was only after encountering Genpei Akasegawa's Thomasson in 2024 that I began to revisit, sort, and organize those records into this book. The format of the book follows that of the Ahngraphics edition of Thomasson.
The book spans 148 pages, organizing photographs and writings from those walks by day of the week, Monday through Sunday. As the days progress, the day indicator shifts one column to the right. Since the core of this book lies in observing the forms and stories of objects and subjects found on the street, color has been entirely removed from the images — leaving only form itself.
